Sandbox Setup 2-Node Cluster

©2015 Couchbase Inc. 2 What are the Pre-requisites for the Setup  Have at least an Intel i3 or AMD equivalent processor (Windows or Mac)  Have at least 8 GB RAM  Have admin access / can install software  Have the ability to shut-off VPN and other Virtual Machines  Have Hardware Assisted Virtualization enabled in the BIOS* OR  Have access to / and are comfortable changing BIOS settings*  Have adequate amount of disk space Note: If you don’t meet the above criteria, Couchbase will provide an alternate cloud environment at the Couchbase Day Venue. Local lab setup is recommended in case of internet connectivity issues at the Venue * See troubleshooting guide (next slide) regarding how to enable Virtualization

©2015 Couchbase Inc. 4 VirtualBox Environment Setup  Copy the appliance.ova file to your local drive  TURN OFF ALL VPN –VirtualBox doesn't behave well with the VPN Setup for the Labs

©2015 Couchbase Inc. 5 Importing the Appliance  File > Import Appliance –Chose the.ova you copied –Click through and import the appliance  You should see two nodes / VMs added after the import

©2015 Couchbase Inc. 6 Wait ….Change the Network Settings FIRST  VirtualBox > Preferences > Network > Host-Only Network  Configure the Host-Only Network: –Doubleclick on the available interface –If a Host-Only interface doesn’t exist add one –Set the Adapter and DHCP Server to the * settings as shown

©2015 Couchbase Inc. 7 Change the vboxnet# interface ***Windows ONLY***  Fix the Host-Only Interface Adapter from vboxnet# to “VirtualBox Host Only Ethernet Adapter”  Click OK  Note: It might seem that the correct interface is selected after the import. However, you still need to explicitly click OK to make sure the interface changes from vboxnet# to “VirtualBox Host Only Ethernet Adapter”

©2015 Couchbase Inc. 8 Change the vboxnet# interface ***Windows ONLY***  Verify that the interface changed to “VirtualBox Host- Only Ethernet Adapter”  You need to have two interfaces enabled –NAT –Host-only Adapter
