3 I-9 Database The I-9 Database (I9Db) is a university web-based application that captures each employee’s Form I-9 and submits the information to the federal government (E-Verify) to ensure the employee is verified to work in the United States. E-Verify is an internet-based system operated by the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services that allows employers to verify the employment eligibility of employees. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently rolled out new webservices updates that greatly impacted our current I9Db, which provided the Office of Human Resources (OHR) an opportunity to create a more user friendly database.
4 Access Access to the new database will be granted according to the new HR Roster, a database maintained by SHRPs that captures staff across the university who complete HR-related work. > You will need to partner with your SHRP to ensure you and/or your team are included in the HR Roster for your college or unit, and that staffing changes (new hires or departing team members who process I-9s) are reflected in the HR Roster. Users who do not complete HR-related work or who will not be added to the new HR Roster, will have to to be granted access to the new I-9 In the I-9 Database all users will have employee profile access at the college/business unit level for the college/business unit they are assigned.
