Today is not about the money It is about doing things differently

Today is about looking at what works well It is about thinking about the positive things we need to hold on to

Our priorities.. We have undertaken a Self evaluation that demonstrated that there is a gap between the priorities of the Suffolk’s Mental Health strategy and the aims of some of our funded projects. Our aim is to deliver the six priorities through all projects/services we commission. Priorities below; – More people will have good mental health – More people with mental health problems will recover – More people with mental health problems will have good physical health – More people will have a positive experience of care and support – Fewer people will suffer avoidable harm – Fewer people will experience stigma and discrimination

Current Offer Suffolk County Council has two grants supporting Information, Advice and Guidance with – Suffolk Family Carers providing a bespoke service which includes support to people caring for over 18s Suffolk Family Carers – New Chapters provides information, advice and guidance through library services New Chapters Suffolk County Council wants to move to a more universal integrated service which identifies all target groups

How? A partnership project Co-produced with service users, carers, family and friends Suffolk wide (including Waveney) Building based and rural outreach

People with Mental Health needs Family Carers of people with Mental Health needs Ethnic Minorities People living in rural locations/ Urban areas Marginalised Vulnerable Adults The General public Flexible to groups who are identified as needing support Who are our target audience?

What’s the plan for 2016/17? AUGUST 2016 Complete Equality Impact Assessment and submit and trained Feedback on individual Self Evaluations Meet with the information partnership to begin to scope further SEPTEMBER Have a conversation with people who use the access information, Service users, carers, families and friends. (Draft event dates and venues have been booked within each library in the following locations for September; Felixstowe - 5 th, Lowestoft - 7 th, Ipswich – 14 th, Bury St Edmunds – 15 th, Haverhill - 26 th and Hadleigh - 27 th. Hadleigh was chosen as a replacement for Sudbury as this library is unavailable due to works being carried out OCTOBER Set up Competitve Grant workshops to widen the conversation with local and national providers to shape the specification around information and advice. NOVEMBER- DECEMBER Final Specification JANUARY- MARCH Release onward feedback, provide notice period APRIL 2017 New partnership project to begin April 2017
