AF 2: Understand, describe, select or retrieve information, events or ideas from texts and use quotation and reference to text.
AF4: Identify and comment on the structure and organisation of texts, including grammatical and presentational features at text level.
AF6: Identify and comment on writers’ purposes and viewpoints, and the overall effect of the text on the reader. Award 3 marks for 3 acceptable points or 2 points with one developed. Award 2 marks for 2 acceptable points or 1 developed point. Award 1 mark for 1 acceptable point.

SPAG
Punctuation, sentence- grammar and vocabulary will all be assessed by a series of short-answer questions in a variety of formats. Some question formats will be familiar to children from the current English reading tests and some new ones will be introduced.
