Multiculturalism and politics Multiculturalism advances a political vision that claims to reconcile cultural diversity with civic cohesion, but there is no single doctrine in how this should be advanced. Multiculturalism, like feminism, is a cross-cutting of ideologies. There are competing models of multiculturalism.

Multiculturalism and politics There are several different branches of multicultural ideologies, including: Liberal multiculturalism Pluralistic multiculturalism Cosmopolitan multiculturalism

Multiculturalism may well be the successor to the nationalism of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Multiculturalism could prove to be an unstoppable force in the twenty-first century and beyond. Multiculturalism might prove however to have its limitations, and become unfashionable.
