Note: Most adverbs are made by adding ly to the adjectives. AdjectiveAdverb silentsilently happyhappily Look at the adjective ‘happy’ and adverb ‘happily’. When the adjective ends with y, y, the y is changed into i and add ly to the adjectives.

Note: Some words can be used as both an adjective or a adverb. AdjectiveAdverb hard fast late See the examples. The stone is hard. Here the word ‘hard’ modifies or describes the noun ‘stone’. So the word ‘hard’ is adjective here. AdjectiveAdverb The stone is hard.She works hard. She works hard. Here the word ‘hard’ modifies or describes the verb ‘works’. So the word ‘hard’ is adverb here.
