R.E.N.T. Sonoma County RESPONDING TO EXISTING NEEDS OF TENANCY

Background on Project  Continuum of Care of Sonoma County Sub-Committee  10 Year Homeless Action Plan  Housing + Health + Income  Housing Goal: Increase permanent affordable housing to meet the need  Ensuring that we maximize our existing housing inventory  Began in July 2015 as a multi-agency approach to increasing housing inventory for those who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness

Our Mission  Increasing access to rental housing for those experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless by connecting qualified tenants to landlords in Sonoma County.

Action Plan - Goal #1  Goal #1: Create a public education campaign and housing coalition modeled after Upstream Investments.  Create a Housing Coalition that includes marketing and educational opportunities to the community and property owners/managers.  Provide advocacy and engage policy makers into strategies to maximize housing inventory.  Create a score card that provides measures progress and defines areas of improvement

Action Plan – Goal #2  Goal #2 : Reduce barriers to housing placement.  Create a landlord/real estate advisory group  Implement tenant education curriculum among all Continuum of Care Providers  Develop a landlord incentive, recruitment, and retention plan.
