 Why do it? ◦ Online journals can be accessed remotely ◦ Online journals better support distance education ◦ Online journals can be accessed 24 hours / day ◦ Multiple users can read the same article at the same time ◦ Online journals are easier to access, link resolvers lead users from a citation to the full text

 Migrated 224 titles from print to online  Cancelled 79 titles  Added 152 new titles, primarily from online journal packages.

 Renew our existing 289 online journals  Migrate 161 scholarly titles from print to online  Cancel 139 titles (most are accessible through Project Muse, PsycArticles, and other databases)  Retain 134 titles in print format (mostly magazines & newspapers)

 139 Magazines & Newspapers on the Current Periodicals Shelves  450 individual scholarly journal subscriptions – all online  Access to an additional 4,500 scholarly journals through five publisher packages – all online  Access to 15,000 additional titles through aggregator databases

 134 print titles (Magazines): $10,000  450 online journals (scholarly): $350,000  4,500 titles in Online journal packages: $150,000  Savings from the 139 titles being canceled: $29,000
