Paul Klee

Paul Klee was born in Switzerland.

Paul Klee was a very talented artist and musician. His dad taught him how to play the violin when he was 8! Klee is what we would call an abstract artist. Abstract art is art that does not show objects in the real world, but instead uses color, shape and lines in a non-representational way. It is not supposed to look like anything! But it’s OK if you see something in the painting.

“The Twittering Machine”

First we will paint our paper using sponges! Then we will draw on our papers using a black piece of charcoal. Charcoal is made from burning stick of wood. We will use Paul Klee’s “The Twittering Machine” to inspire our own artwork. We want to re-create our own version of the painting.
