Foundation Atatürk University was first mentioned by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in years later, the university was then established in Erzurum in The University of Nebraska, provided academic support during the initial stages of the foundation for 10 years.

Erzurum The largest city in Northeast part of Turkey Located in an altitude of 2000 meters and population of 395 thousand Historical city and prehistoric centre for education. Palandöken Mountain, lying behind the city has the worlds longest slopes. Erzurum was given the right to organize the 25th Universiade, 26 January – 7 February, National and International access is possible by air, land and railway.
Accommodation Facilities Dormitories – All dormitories situated on and off campus can accommodate approximately students. Guesthouses – The university has three guesthouses on campus having a capacity of 100 people. Catering – Canteens, cafeterias, dining halls and restaurants which cater for students during the academic year. Health Services – The re is University hospital and health care serves in the campus.
Educational Facilities Library –The main library is one of the richest in the country in terms of its entries and historical books and collections. –Colleges and departments have their own libraries. Computer Centre –The centre is equipped with the latest technology and infrastructure, allowing distance learning. Conference Halls –University auditorium consists of an art gallery and 2 conference halls. There are many modern conference halls within the colleges.
Cultural and Sportive Activities Youth, competition and Sport festivals are also organized in various branches between faculties and colleges. Social areas have been formed on campus in order to meet all social necessities of students Several sport teams of students are being formed for competitions and festivals
Radio, TV and Students Clubs Radio University broadcasts from FM and also from the internet. University TV broadcasts cultural, artistic, sports and documentary programs. There are currently about 25 active student clubs. An online social responsibility centre is set up at the Office of International Affairs to gather and coordinate all student clubs and voluntary work carried out.
Academic Year Semesters –An academic year consists of two semesters, each consisting of 17 weeks. Summer semester courses are also offered when demanded for making up. Registration –All students are required to take part and succeed in the University Entrance Examination held annually to register at Atatürk University. In addition, some colleges require a proficiency competence test. Summer and Winter School Programs –The University also organizes a 2 week summer school Program each year for the students of sister foreign universities from all around the world based on cultural lectures and visits.

Office of International Affairs Acts as a bridge between the University and the outside world in order to provide university students and teaching staff International experience in training and research. Helps incoming foreign students and scientists integrate with the university on their arrival to make them feel at home in the best possible way. Provides information relating to the world’s best opportunities in order to ensure the university’s effective communication with national and international communities.
