Goal of the 2012 Summit To bring together and foster collaboration between the ontology community, systems community, and stakeholders of some of the "big systems.” To explore, identify and articulate how ontological methods can bring value to the various disciplines required to engineer a "big system." 9

Schedule of Events January 12, 2012 Launch of the virtual Summit …3 months of on-line discussion and production of a tangible result April 12-13, 2012 at NIST, Gaithersburg MD Symposium, for final discussion, consensus, and presentation of our communiqué 10

Goals for Today To review the progress of the 5 tracks To come to consensus on the Summit Communiqué 11

The Fabian Rule Ground rules for discussions New issues for the Ontology Summit 2012 Symposium agenda were raised prior to today’s meeting. A new issue can be added to the agenda during the Symposium only if at least three participants support the move. This is to avoid our getting off track from the goals of this year’s Summit. 12
