At the Annual Membership meeting in March of 2016, the membership voted in a bylaw change to move the annual meetings from March to October. The deadline for submitting new business items to the annual meeting agenda was not changed to coincide with the new meeting timeframe. This special meeting is to vot on the below proposed by-law change: ELEIA SPECIAL MEETING for by-law change AUGUST 6 TH AT 10 AM IN THE PAVILLION. Proposed change of ByLaw Article IV, Section 5B, Letter A – “New business items to be on the agenda must to be submitted to the Secretary of the Board of Directors by September 1st.” Current ByLaw Article IV, Section 5B, Letter A – “New business items to be on the agenda must to be submitted to the Secretary of the Board of Directors by February 1st.” -On letterhead -Put a button on website -Greetings and Salutations

Events -12 pm to 7 pm: All Ages Games (tug-o-war, potato sack races, sand castle building contest, limbo contest, and more!) -2 pm: Cardboard boat race between T- dock and boat launch (register at 1 pm; see back for rules) -3 pm: Magic Show! -All Day: Memory Tile Sales and Decorating -Evening: Band and/or DJ Pot Luck Dinner -ELEIA will provide 25¢ Hot Dogs from 4 – 7 pm. -Bring a dish to pass – sign up at the office or via . -Beverages will be available for purchase at the concession stand or bring your own. Cardboard Boat Race Rules Adventures await those brave enough to test the water in your boats creations! How long will you float…? ALL BOATERS MUST ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING RULES: 1.Boats must be made of corrugated cardboard (nothing larger than The Queen Mary) 2.Must be human powered and propelled by canoe paddles. (No kayak paddles, electric/gas motors, electric mixers, or beanie devices! :-) 3.Boats must be registered and on display in area between T-dock & boat launch by 1pm to qualify 4.Medals awarded to “Best Race Time” and one surprise medal to be awarded after race. 5.Maximum of 4 people in boat. 6.Boat construction: Cardboard & duct tape only. For those who like to have more defined rules, here you are: a.Everything on the boat must be corrugated cardboard. NO nuts, bolts, washers or staples. b.Any thickness of corrugated cardboard is permitted. c.Absolutely NO use of tar-based substances, epoxy glue, fiberglass resin, varnishes, shellac, wax, silicone or scotch guard; NOTE: Spray paint decoration is acceptable d.Styrofoam or other flotation type foam is NOT permitted as part of the construction of the boat. e.Only seams and joints may be taped with duct tape, not the whole boat. f.The hull must NOT be wrapped in plastic, shrink wrap or anything else. g.Maximum of 50 yards of duct tape 7.Safety Rules a.All racers in boat must wear a life jacket while racing. b.Racers must not be enclosed in boat above the shoulders & racers must be visible while boat is in the water. 8.Actual Race Rules: a.The race course will be ~ 50 yards between the T-dock and boat launch dock: Start, go around a marked area, and return to start (finish) b.The race(s) will begin at 2pm c.To qualify as a finisher, you must be IN your boat, not towing or swimming under it or touching the bottom. 9.To register or ask questions, please do not hesitate to stop in at the ELEIA office.
