Mobile Analyzer Concept Mobile Analyzer is a distributed computing platform. Used when there is a need to analyse vast amounts of data that is stored in a distributed fashion. Java implementation is secure and supports heterogeneous platforms. Basic idea: User provides code and description of needed data. Data is found automatically using a lookup server. Send the analysis code where the data is and execute it. Send back execution status and results. Overview

Mobile Analyzer Concept Components Client computer Provides access point Resource information server Runs “yellow pages” for needed resources Analysis servers Computers which have data and computing power for users User supplied data The code to run and a description of required data

Mobile Analyzer Concept 1 The client contacts Resource Information Server (Host 1) to locate data. 2 Based on the information, client decides which computers to send the job(s) to. 3 Client dispatches the job to target computers. 4 The job is run on the remote location(s). 5 Results are sent back to the client and saved. Execution

Mobile Analyzer Concept Being Java-based, supports truly heterogeneous hardware environments (Solaris, Linux, Windows,...). Being Java-based, resources are secure and protected against hostile programs. Reduced workload for the user as the data location does not need to be known. Gain computing power by distributing the job to multiple computers. Advantages

Mobile Analyzer Concept Current Status Prototype runs on a private test environment. Uses static LDAP-server to find the data locations and information how to connect to the data source. Reads event-like data from Objectivity 6.0 Beta using Java interface. Masks Objectivity behind Java Analysis Studio EventSource interface. Is not very stable…yet.

Mobile Analyzer Concept Support for off-line execution of jobs. Future directions JobDispatcher implements: Autonomous job execution Autonomous result saving Job status monitoring
