The Future of Energy & Space Travel

Worldwide 2050 annual energy use (all energy sectors of transportation, electrical power, agriculture and potable water production and transportation) is 3.2 x (3.2 Zeta Joules.) This is based on developing nations approaching 75% of Western nations projected 2050 consumption. Energy contained in world natural gas reserves: 6.9 x (6.9 Zeta Joules) All remaining natural gas could power the entire 2050 world for 2.15 years.

Energy contained in world petroleum reserves: 7.9 x (7.9 Zeta Joules) All remaining oil could power the entire 2050 world for 2.46 years. Energy contained in world coal reserves: 2.4 x (24 Zeta Joules) All remaining coal could power the entire 2050 world for 7.5 years.

Energy produced by every living plant in the world: 1.5 x (1.5 Zeta Joules) If every single living land and ocean plant in the world was replaced by solar cells having equal square area solar could power 47% of the entire world.

As can be seen by the previous 5 bullet points, we are faced with a problem. There are two solutions: 1.Reduce worldwide population by a factor of ten. That is the Malthusian solution called for by the “sustainability movement’s” doctrine and Agenda Solve energy through mass to energy conversion; E=MC 2. Fission Fusion Matter anti-matter annihilation

In 1976, the Energy Research and Development Administration, or ERDA—the predecessor to the Department of Energy—published a chart showing various policy and funding options for the magnetic fusion energy research program. Each option, called a Logic, described how the level of funding for the research would determine when practical fusion power would become available.

The most aggressive profile, Logic V, proposed that a budget of approximately $600 million per year would put the fusion program on a path to operate a demonstration reactor by At the other end of the scale, Logic 1, set at a level of about $150 million per year, was the option colloquially described as “fusion never,” because the funding never reached the level where the remaining challenges in fusion could be overcome. The U.S. fusion program has been at that “fusion never” equivalent level, or below, for the past 30 years.

Total 2011 U.S. expenditures for medical scientific research exceeded $95 billion U.S. DOE non-NNSA fusion research budget $415 million; >95% pledged to ITER contractual obligation fulfillment.

USCL and the State of California lead the way... Revolutionizing metering and AMI

USCL has driven the utility industry forward since 2001

April 2001 USCL unveils working EMS-2020 prototype at an Open house attended by California State Senator Tom Torlakson USCL receives letter from the White House regarding its innovative Smart Meter and Customer display products

Senator Torlakson introduces Senate Bill SB-1976; Approved by the California Governor September 24, 2002 Senate Bill 1976 leads to two year SPP pilot project

Tom Tamarkin files testimony with the California Public Utilities Commission on the importance of in-home customer energy displays

2004: California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) begins to mandate AMI for the state’s three Investor Owned Utilities Q2 2004; over 12 million old fashion electro- mechanical power meters will be replaced in California by 2012

Southern California Edison (SCE) files negative business case model with CPUC for AMI; Vice President provides negative testimony at CEC and CPUC public hearing November 2004

USCL prepares detailed letter and AMI Team Roadmap PowerPoint for SCE President Robert Foster and personally delivers documents to Mr. Foster’s office January

SCE files 480 page five volume positive AMI business case model largely based on USCL’s letter and AMI Roadmap March 30, 2005

SCE receives approval from CPUC to proceed based on USCL’s suggested RFI and RFP for new innovative technology providing a robust set of new consumer oriented features as well as new utility features

SCE issues RFP for 5 million AMI meters and communications systems January 2007; USCL is one of 9 approved bidders SCE show cases it’s “SmartConnect™" efforts to the public SCE receives numerous awards for most innovative AMI deployment in the USA

In April 2006 Southern California Edison announces: "Advanced metering will be the most sweeping change in the way SCE and its customers manage electricity use in Edison's year history. It will provide new ways to control costs and improve service response." -Alan Fohrer, SCE, Chief Executive Officer

In November 2006 USCL was approved as one of only four company’s world wide approved to respond to SCE’s meter RFQ (bid process) for 5 million meters. WHY? WE WROTE THE SPEC… DM-06 meter specification is the most advanced residential application meter in the world meter. USCL protected its key IP rights with proper patent filings in the U. S. and abroad.

In May 2008 Tom Tamarkin, et al, was granted U. S. Patent N umber 7, 379,791 as assigned to USCL Corp. What does this patent cover and why is it important?

Patent Pending Tamarkin U.S. Patents 7,379,791 – 8,306,668 – 8,639,390

Status of the patents: 3 United States Patents Granted EU Granted, Continuation Pending Israel Granted, Continuation Pending China Granted USPTO Third Patent Notice of Allowance received. Will issue by 02/15/2014; 26 claims

The Power of the USCL IP: In July 2008, Southern California Edison (SCE) filed a patent application substantially similar to USCL’s themselves. In a First Office Action, the USPTO rejected all claims as not being a novel invention in view of the USCL application and issued patent. Why is this important? SCE planed to offer a license of its patent to all other utilities blocking USCL and other companies rights to recover money from their IP.

Utility and Manufacturer Consortium USCL is organizing a consortium of Electrical Utilities including  Investor Owned Utilities (135)  Municipal Utilities(250)  Rural Electric Cooperatives(935)  Federal Irrigation Districts(10) Appliance Manufacturers Thermostat Manufacturers Utility Meter Manufacturers Utility AMR Software Companies Meter network communications Companies

USCL Consortium End User Coverage Fusion Power Development incubator “Single User” licensed non-infringer is Utility company who owns the utility meter 65 million smart meters will be installed by million smart meters will be installed by 2018 A monthly license fee will be absorbed in rate base as a utility cost; utilities will accept this and regulators will approve this Annual U.S. license fee revenue >$500 million to fund fusion incubator and USCL operations
