7 Details Query Based Reporting (Ad Hoc) enables business users to create their own unique reports without the need of database querying or report development technical skills. Enabling this functionality frees up multiple Development Resources from creating and maintaining individual report design files for these users. Ad Hoc reports can be saved, ed and exported to csv - all mechanisms which enable users access to the powerful V7 data for ease of decision making Based on extensive Usability Testing conducted on the initial release of the Ad Hoc Reporting Functionality at Pulse 2008, multiple enhancements were implemented in December’s 7114 Release. Each feature is targeted to enable Business Users to create their own Ad Hoc reports as quickly and easily as possible. The primary feature update has been the addition of extended field selection. This enables users to add fields to their QBR reports from multiple database tables. This functionality is enabled through a Category Hierarchy Drilldown, created from Report Object Structures. This was the highest requested enhancement feature by clients from the Usability Testing. Sorting and Grouping of report data enables the user to view data quickly and concisely in multiple categories. This was the second most requested item from clients as it enables users to efficiently view large amounts of data for their unique business requirements.

31 Configuration Items What is a Configuration Item? –ITIL Definition: A configuration item (CI) is any component of an information technology infrastructure that is under the control of configuration management –EAM Definition: A configuration item (CI) is any component of an asset infrastructure that is under the control of change and configuration management

32 Configuration Items A CI is a virtual copy of an Asset that can be subjected to engineering and design change The CI can also represent logical or virtual assets – such as software, firmware, etc. The CI and Assets can share the same classification taxonomy You can create Work Orders, Incidents, Problems, Changes, etc. on the CI CI has a status similar to Assets CIs do not have maintenance and operational capabilities like PMs, Condition Monitoring etc.. Changes to the CI do not affect the day to day operations performed by the Asset PMs, Condition Monitoring etc work as usual Once the final design change is approved on the CI, the Asset can be taken out of service to execute the change
