Aim:  The aim of our project is to multi-parameter monitoring and alerting through Mobile Phone in Industries.

Existing system: In early system the manual operation is required for monitoring the values and hence the efficiency is seems to less. In this system the faults occur in the power plant is just indicated through buzzers and using LCD displays. It’s somewhat uncomfortable; to eliminate this drawback we go for a newer, efficient and simpler system.

Proposed system:  This project presents the construction and design of automated industrial parameter monitoring system. The parameters of the power plant are continuously monitored with the help of the voltage and current sensors. The microcontroller unit monitors the status of the power plant data ’ s continuously using comparator circuit and corresponding sensors.  The measured values are given as an input to the microcontroller, which it is programmed to able to transmit the signal continuously. In case the parameters have reached a certain abnormal value, the alert message is transferred to the receiver section based on wireless communication. Controller intimates through a voice message to the workers using landline. To automatically dial the number in the landline phone we use relays.

OPERATION: The parameters of the power plant are continuously monitored with the help of the voltage and current sensors. The microcontroller unit monitors the status of the power plants data continuously by using comparator circuit and corresponding sensors. The measured values are given as an input to the microcontroller, which is programmed to be able to transmit the signal continuously. In case the parameters have reached a certain abnormal value the alert message is transferred to the receiver section based on wireless communication by using GSM. The controller also intimates through a voice message to the workers by using mobile phone.

MICRO CONTROLLER : A Micro controller consists of a powerful CPU tightly coupled with memory RAM,ROM or EPROM, various I/O features such as Serial ports, Parallel ports, Timer / Counter, Interrupt Controller, Data Acquisition interfaces-Analog to Digital converter(ADC), Digital to Analog converter(DAC), everything integrated onto a Single Silicon Chip. Any microcomputer system requires memory to store a sequence of instructions making up a program, parallel port or serial port for communicating with an external system, timer/counter for control purposes like generating time delays, Baud rate for the serial port, apart from the controlling unit called the Central Processing Unit.

FEATURES OF MICRO CONTROLLER:  8 Bit CPU optimized for control applications  Extensive Boolean processing(Single bit Logic)  On-Chip Flash Program Memory  On-Chip Data RAM  Bi-directional and Individually Addressable  I/O Lines.

VOLTAGE SENSORS:

OPERATION: Voltage Sensors are designed to protect system equipment and circuitry from voltage that is hazardous or unsuitable for operation. DARE AC Voltage Sensor s are designed to operate in a wide variety of military and industrial environments. Models are available for operation with single or three phase voltage systems and for DC, 50, 60, or 400 Hz. APPLICATIONS: They can be used to monitor for under-voltage, over-voltage, or a voltage window. In the event that the sensor detects an undesirable voltage condition, the output of the sensor can be used to activate alarms, shed loads, or shutdown systems.

Current sensor:

OPERATION:  This is a INA159 Dual-Polarity, Bidirectional Current-Shunt-Monitor Circuit.  This circuit uses OPA340 because it has near rail- to-rail input and output swing ranges that allow the output voltage of the circuit to approach 0 and 5V.  To increase the sensitivity we can use a higher OPA340 closed-loop gain.  It will increase DC errors and reduces the bandwidth if we use a higher OPA340 closed-loop gain.

MAX232 :  The MAX232 is a dual driver/receiver that includes a capacitive voltage generator to supply RS 232 voltage levels from a single 5v supply.  Each receiver converts RS-232 to 5v TTL/CMOS levels.  Each driver converts TLL/CMOS input levels into EIA-232 levels. The P3_0 (RX) and P3_1 (TX) pin of controller is connected to the max 232 driver and the TX and RX pin of max 232 is connected to the GSM modem or PC.  In this circuit the microcontroller transmitter pin is connected in the MAX232 T2IN pin which converts input 5v TTL/CMOS level to RS232 level.  The data is transmitted and received between the microcontroller and PC or other device vice versa.

APR9600 device: The APR9600 device offers true single-chip voice recording, non- volatile storage, and playback capability for 40 to 60 seconds. The device supports both random and sequential access of multiple messages. Sample rates are user-selectable, allowing designers to customize their design for unique quality and storage time needs. Integrated output amplifier, microphone amplifier, and AGC circuits greatly simplify system design. The device is ideal for use in portable voice recorders, toys, and many other consumer and industrial applications.
