In the Park there are many outcrops and outcrops of rock that allow observation of layers of different geological periods. In the reserve occur formed sandstones. They originally deposited as a loose material in the basin during the Tertiary. This material is due to diagenesis transformation into a rock concise.

Featuring a great landscape, the park abounds with the original geological features and unspoiled forest environments. Flora contains about 900 species of vascular plants. Dominant species of trees are: beech, fir, pine and oak.
