LifeNet Simulation Created by Edith and Archie Bunker

Life in Hawaii is hard, but with a lot of planning it can be successful. We selected our educational background from the Can Of Fate. Educational Background: Edith was graduated from high school. Archie was graduated from high school and went on to culinary arts school. He is now a chef at a major downtown Hawaiian hotel.

We selected our marital status from the Can of Fate. Marital Status Edith Wilson and Archie Bunker were blissfully wedded on June 25, 2001 at 10 a.m. in the morning. The union was attended by a few friends.

The Job Search Edith and Archie prepared for their new life together by looking through the papers for jobs to support themselves. They both found ideal jobs to suit their educational backgrounds. Edith: Secretary in Jobs Office Archie: Pastries Chef at Hale Koa Hotel

Monthly Gross Income Edith’s job yields $18, per year. That is $1,560 per month. Archie’s job yields $27,000 per year. That is $2,250 per month. Net Income After Taxes $1,560 -$447.35== $1, $2,250 - $ = $

Monthly Housing Expense Edith and Archie found a lovely 1 Bedroom/1 Bath apartment near Kalakaua Shopping Center. Including the utilities their rent came to ……... $775.00/month

Monthly Transportation Expense Because of the excellent location of the Bunkers living quarters they chose to have only one car and use a bus pass for their other means of transportation. They frugally chose a newer used vehicle as their first car Ford Taurus : 4 doors, automatic, air-conditioning, low mileage, 1 owner, in excellent condition. Price: $7,900. Bus pass = $30.00/month Car expenses= $257.00/month Total = $287.00/month

Monthly Food Expense Archie and Edith have decided to maintain a very strict and properly balanced diet. They will shop weekly, but budget monthly for their food. They will also use coupons and shop at different local grocers for the best prices. Their location makes shopping for the best prices possible. Food Cost Weekly: $87.00 Food Cost Monthly: $377.00

Monthly Miscellaneous Expenses Clothing: Edith has a monthly allowance or $150 for clothing. Archie has a monthly allowance of $150 for clothing. Entertainment: Edith and Archie each have $150 for any monthly entertainment they choose. Stuff Allowance Edith and Archie each have $150 for any stuff they want to purchase for themselves or each other.

Total Monthly Expenses Housing: $ Transportation: $ Food Expense: $ Miscellaneous : $ Total is $ Edith and Archie wanted a healthy savings account because they are planning for a home and family in a few years. Savings monthly is $687.00

Edith and Archie have learned a lot about surviving in Hawaii. They learned that it takes a lot of effort to plan, know your priorities, and work together to make life successful. They wish you success in your future as you live life skillfully in Paradise!
