Community Service Programme A Paradigm Shift  In the early days Y’s Men clubs mainly supported projects chosen by the YMCA.  While this practice continues under the partnership principles the Forward Plan requires clubs to engage directly with communities.  This requirement of Community service under the Forward Plan is a paradigm shift.

What is a Paradigm  Theory, model, belief system, methodology, value, dogma, habit, pattern or conventional wisdom.  Shared set of assumptions.  Framework of thought.  Basic way of perceiving, thinking, valuing and doing associated with a particular vision.

What is a Paradigm Shift?  A move from one way of looking at something to a new way of looking at it.  A move to a new mindset, a new attitude, a new way of thinking.  When the rules change then part of our world changes.  Paradigm shifts are important because most significant changes are driven by a shift in paradigms.

Community Service - Ground Zero When a Paradigm Shifts, Every One Goes ‘Back to Zero’

Community Service – The Big Question  Is your club prepared to embrace a paradigm shift by engaging directly with communities in order ‘To build a common identity and improve the image of Y's Men International within the communities we live in?’  Is your club prepared to make Community Service the core of YMI?
