Managing TurningPoint Files III: Editing a Participant List Gerald Bergtrom, Ph.D. Learning Technology Center University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee October 2005 Edited by Tanya Joosten, Alan Aycock, Susan Gifford

For the first few weeks of a semester, your Participant List (.tpp ) file will be updated and provided by the LTC.

In this tutorial you will: Access an editable version of your participant list using TurningPoint to: 1. correct student information. 2. add new student information. …so that students and their clickers are correctly registered. NOTE: You must launch TurningPoint to edit a Participant List. This tutorial demonstrates editing with an open presentation, but editing can be done with ANY or NO open presentation file.

To begin, click on the arrow next to Participants on the TP toolbar; then click on Edit a Participant List.

Highlight the Participant List (.tpp) file to be edited and click Open.

In the Participant Information window, scroll down to show the student whose information must be changed. 1. To change student information…

Double-click in the cell that must be edited and type in the change(s). Then click Done. …you will be returned to your presentation (or to the empty screen if no presentation was open).

Click on Participants and then on Edit a Participant List. 2. To add a new student and his/her information…

Highlight the Participant List (.tpp) file to be edited and click Open.

In the Participant Information window, scroll down to the end of the participant list.

Accurately type in the information for the new students, beginning in the first empty row at the end of the list. When finished, click Done.

You are returned to your presentation (or to the empty screen if no presentation was open). Note: If you’re editing your Participant List at the podium computer, don’t forget to select it before starting your presentation!
