IMPACT SAMR Cover Sheet Task OverviewLearning Objective(s)Suggested Technology Students will explore downtown city's using Google maps street view to discover angles in triangles that exist in real life.. Students learn that angles and measurements of angles in triangles hold true in the real world Students explore the differences in culture and streets while observing cities through out the world. Computers ActivInspire Google Earth Students will model how to identify triangles and find missing angles with the use of Educreation. Students will demonstrate their knowledge of finding missing angles of triangles and then showcase it through Educreation to help teach other students. Teacher tube Educreation.com Active inspire Document camera Students will use angle meter app to find real world angles of triangles. Students will use ipads and the angle meter app to find the missing angle of a triangle. Ipad Angle meter app Students will solve and test their solutions to prove that all three angles of a triangle is equal to 180 degrees. Find the missing angle measure of a triangle, classify a triangle by its angles and by its sides Computers Active inspire desktop protractor Louisiana Math Standard (include description): Teacher: Daren Dotson MODIFICATION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable. Testing the truth between Triangles and On the computer, go to Angles%20in%20a%20Triangle.pdf. Angles%20in%20a%20Triangle.pdf 2.Students also open up ActiveInspire 3.Click on desktop annotate 4.Click on view and open page browser. 5.Finally open up the action browser to drag and drop the protractor to the screen. 6.Students will then work in pairs to write the equation for each triangle, solve for the missing angle, and check answer using protractor. 7.Students should show their work by adding all three angles to verify that it is equal to 180 degrees. Students will solve and test their solutions to prove that all three angles of a triangle is equal to 180 degrees. This task uses: Computer ActivInspire protractor Online worksheet (fit to scale) Learning Objective(s): Find the missing angle measure of a triangle, classify a triangle by its angles and by its sides S SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement

Real world angles triangles 1.After getting supplies, search the classroom for triangles. 2.Briefly classify the triangle and draw its shape on your large tracing paper. 3.Using the Angle Meter app on the iPad, measure two of the angles and label them angle A and angle B. 4.Using the substitution property, solve for the third angle. 5.After you solve it and show your work check with the Angle Meter app to see if you were correct. 6.If you were correct move to the next step, if not, then go back to step 3 and try again. 7.Find two more angles in the class and repeats steps 2-6 This task uses: iPad Large Tracing paper Markers Rulers Pencils Angle meter app Learning Objective(s) Students will use ipads and the angle meter app to find the missing angle of a triangle. A AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement.

Educreating With Others 1.Pick a partner and computer. 2.With your partner open ActivInspire to draw examples of one of the two groups of triangles. This is classification by angle (acute, obtuse, or right) or by sides (isosceles, scalene, and equilateral) This is three triangles in all. 3.Rehearse a way to explain the differences and how to solve for a missing angle for all three triangles using ActivInspire. 4.Once there is an understanding on how you will do it, record yourselves giving explanations using Educreations. Include voice, narrations, and annotations on the computer. 5.Once a final video has been edited and finished, upload videos to my Blackboard site in the Discussion Board titled, “Educreating With Others”. 6.View and respond to one other groups Educreation and provide constructive feedback. This task uses: Computers Educreation.com ActivIinspire Learning Objective(s): Students will demonstrate their knowledge of finding missing angles of triangles and then showcase it through Educreation to help teach other students. Angles in the City 1.Get onto a computer or a tablet and open Google Maps. 2.Choose a major city anywhere in the world and go to it on google maps. 3.Use both street view and the map to locate and explore triangles that exist within the city streets. 4.Using the key, you will record the distance and measure the angles using the ActivInspire desktop annotated protractor of a triangle formed through street intersections. Take an Area Snapshot with the ActivInspire Camer with completed annotations. 5.You will also take notes on the city structure and design. 6.Pick two different cities from other parts of the world and repeat steps. When finished right click on pages and Export to Desktop or Pictures as a.jpg file. 7.Go to my Blackboard site and load your.jpg images in the Discussion Board titled “Angles in the City”. 8.View one other post from a different hour class and provide constructive feedback. This task uses: Google Maps ActivInspire Learning Objective(s): Students learn that angles and measurements of angles in triangles hold true in the real world Students explore the differences in culture and streets while observing cities through out the world.
