National accreditation of in-house learning programmes Lobby for and support specific regional training requirements Work with Stakeholders to inform and support their work

Companies wanted more of an input into initial stage training, selection and recruitment. Provide students with an opportunity to experience what engineering has to offer Ensure that despite the recession apprenticeship intake is maintained

Companies were unable to afford a full time apprentice (70% funded in the first year of in-company training) Some companies did not have access to the range of skills they needed to complete a apprenticeship programme

Improve opportunities for Women in Science and Engineering

To ensure that the right person with the right programme is being trained at the right time to improve productivity and competitiveness. By developing providers, designing programmes and testing the delivery we will at the same time produce research studies and learning and development strategies, 20 Providers Targeted30 new programmes developed 500 Employees 80 Employers 20Large 60 SME 4 Reports produced SPFPP £50,000 Provision £50,000 SPFPP £200,000 Employers £200,000 SPFPP £700,000 Employers £700,000 SPFFP £40,000 Sector Priority Fund
