The mission of the Georgia Virtual Technical Connection is to provide support, guidance, and assistance to the state’s Technical Colleges in the design, development, and delivery of distance education and technology based learning initiatives, manage the state level online student application portal, and serve as a conduit for distance and technology enhanced education. Courses began in Blackboard 9.1 Spring Fulltime faculty had to complete a pre-lab workbook and 2 days of training with GVTC. GVTC developed the BbL Essentials online course for new hires and adjuncts. Delivered, facilitated, and managed by GVTC Work at your own pace; however, should be completed within a 6 week period self-enroll at (refer to handout) Initial Blackboard Training is Delivered by GVTC

Web-enhanced courses are traditional classroom courses that use the Blackboard LMS as an important component of the course. Web-Enhanced (V) defined

The following items are the minimum requirements for all courses at SCTC: SCTC Master Template-Complete all nuggets (sections) on the master template course homepage Syllabus-Post course syllabus that includes a course calendar with assignment due dates. Syllabus Verification-Require students to complete the syllabus verification. Welcome Letter-Create and post a welcome announcement. Web-Enhanced (V) requirements

Hybrid courses are classes that are taught partially via the Internet and partially via the classroom. K1-Hybrid courses include 50 percent or greater instruction via distance learning. K2-Hybrid courses include less than 50 percent instruction via distance learning. Hybrid (K1 and K2) defined

Online courses are taught through Blackboard via the internet. Students come to campus only if their instructor requires them to take a proctored test, for presentations, for orientation at the beginning of the semester or other reasons as deemed necessary by the instructor. Completion of GVTC’s Essentials course is part of your performance review. Annual Quality Assurance evaluations are performed on online courses. Performance Reviews & Evaluations
