The Guide to College Counseling INTRODUCTION The purpose of a college counselor plan is to set goals step by step for your students (9 th -12 th grade) that will get them prepared to graduate from high school and ready for college.

9 TH GRADE THE START TO THE REST OF YOUR LIFE

9 TH GRADE “TO-DO” LIST Summer Orientation Set up individual meeting to get to know your college counselor (Fall) Fill out personal surveys Go over educational goals Register for the PSAT (Fall Semester) Go over transcripts to see if you are on the “A-G requirement” track(winter/spring) Take the ACT EXPLORE exam
