Sister Daughter Student Employee Babysitter Captain Driver Student Aide Senior Pet Owner Friend Cousin Female ROLES!

SISTER I am the third of four children. I have one older sister, one older brother and one younger brother. Being a sister is an ascribed role because I was born into a family which already had other children. My role as a sister is to always be there for my siblings and loving them no matter what.

DAUGHTER Being a daughter is an ascribed role because I was born as a girl. As I am a daughter, I must obey my parents rules and make them proud of who I am and who I will become. I am also there to help around the house and become a responsible person because of how they raised me.

STUDENT My role as a student was an achieved role because I needed to keep my good grades to continue in school and move on to a higher grade level. Being a student is hard at points but if you focus on what is ahead.

EMPLOYEE Being an employee was an achieved role because I have to apply for the job and then hope that I get accepted. I have had two jobs and at each job my duties were to clock in on time, be polite to customers, and maintain a fake smile and a positive attitude.

BABYSITTER As a babysitter, I have to be trusted by the parents showing it was an achieved role. Being a babysitter means that I must gain and maintain trust from the parents, have fun with the kids, and keep them safe.

CAPTAIN I am the captain for the cheerleading team and this is an achieved role because I gained the trust of my coach. By cheerleading for my four years of high school I have become a role model to the younger cheerleaders and trusted by my coach to give advice and help when needed.

DRIVER Another achieved role would be a licensed driver because I have to take a test proving I knew what I was doing showing that being able to drive a vehicle is a privilege. Getting my license took time because of driver’s ed. As a driver I have to obey the laws and keep myself and others safe.

STUDENT AIDE Being a student aide is important because the teacher must trust you. I aide for Baumgartner and as being a former student of his he knew that I would get my work done for him and always be willing to make his copies. A student aide is an achieved role because I must earn the trust of the teacher. I must make his copies, take attendance for classes, and just lend a helping hand.

SENIOR While becoming a senior I have achieved this role by graduating from year to year. As a senior I am a role model for the underclassmen, I have to apply to college, and I have to continue to keep up the good spirit of the school.

PET OWNER I have three dogs and this is achieved because I had to convince my parents to let us buy pets. Being a pet owner I must let my dogs out, feed them, and love them.

FRIEND Being a friend is an achieved role because I must respect and be friendly to other people in order to acquire friends. As a friend I must be there for them, help them when they need me, and just have fun with them.

COUSIN A cousin is an ascribed role because I was born into a family where my parents have siblings and they have children too. Being a cousin means talking to my cousins, being there for them whenever they need me no matter what the situation.

FEMALE As a female, I am expected to maintain a girly appearance and a polite attitude. I have been ascribed this role because I was born as a female.

MASTER ROLE I think that my favorite role would have to be sister. I love being around my siblings. No matter what mood any of my siblings are in, or myself, we always have a great time and know how to lift each others spirits. Without my siblings I am not sure who I would be today. My siblings mean the world to me and I would not exchange them for the world. I can always count on any one of them to help me when I need help and they can count on me. I love being there for my siblings. Growing up in a big family teaches you so many life lessons that you will never forget. I think that being a sibling is my favorite role because it has created me to be the person who I am today.
