NOW ENTERING VIETNAM….ENJOY YOUR TRIP!

Physical Geography Hopefully you packed with your summer wardrobe because Vietnam is a country that has tropical climate with seasonal monsoons. Did you bring your umbrella? Vietnam is along the South East Asia peninsula south of China. The mountains terrain full of jungle vegetation is a sight to see! One of the main physical features is the Mekong River that is used as a water resource, transportation, and other industries.

There are 87,000,000 people that live in Vietnam. The main language is Vietnamese, English, French and Chinese. Can you say these phrases? What is the weather like today? = Thế nào là thời tiết như ngày hôm nay? How much for the pig? = Bao nhiêu cho lợn? I am ready to go to school. = Tôi sẵn sàng để đi học.

Vietnam is a communist state. The capital city is Hanoi. Communism became the official government system in the Southern part of Vietnam after the 10 year war fought by the United States and the communist government.

The average Vietnamese worker earns $2,900 per year. Overall, the GDP for Vietnam is $246.6 BILLION. The main industries in Vietnam are agriculture and small markets along the Mekong River.

In Vietnam, the literacy rate is 90%. 80 % of the population does not practice a particular religion. However, 10% of Vietnamese practice Buddhism. There are also people that practice Catholicism.

Interesting Facts in Vietnam People in Vietnam have potbelly pigs for a pet! In Vietnam schools, instead of school bells to call students to class, they use gongs!
