OBJECTIVES EXPLAIN WHY EATING A HEALTHY BREAKFAST IS IMPORTANT. DESCRIBE THREE STRATEGIES FOR MAKING HEALTHY SNACK CHOICES. LIST SEVEN WAYS TO EAT HEALTHILY AT A FAST-FOOD RESTAURANT. LIST SIX WAYS TO EAT HEALTHILY AT HOME.

BELLRINGER CHOOSE THE HEALTHIER SNACK FROM EACH OF THE FOLLOWING: 1. A CANDY BAR OR AN APPLE 2. A PIECE OF TOAST WITH CREAM CHEESE OR POTATO CHIPS 3. A SLICE OF PIZZA OR A CUP OF YOGURT 4. A BOWL OF PASTA OR A BOWL OF ICE CREAM

ESSENTIAL QUESTION HOW DOES EATING BREAKFAST AFFECT YOUR ABILITY TO CONCENTRATE IN CLASS?

DEFINITIONS MOST PEOPLE WHO DON’T EAT BREAKFAST BECOME HUNGRY, IRRITATED, OR LIGHT-HEADED BY THE MIDDLE OF THE MORNING. THEY MAY HAVE TROUBLE CONCENTRATING, ESPECIALLY IN CLASS. EATING A HEALTHY BREAKFAST USUALLY PREVENTS YOU FROM FEELING THIS WAY.

DEFINITIONS EIGHT STRATEGIES FOR HEALTHY MEALS ON-THE- GO 1. ORDER A SALAD. 2. CHOOSE A GRILLED MEAL. 3. EAT ONLY PART OF THE PORTION. 4. USE LOW-FAT DRESSING. 5. USE KETCHUP INSTEAD OF MAYONNAISE. 6. AVOID ORDERING THE “EXTRAS.” 7. USE SALSA INSTEAD OF CHEESE SAUCE. 8. ORDER WATER INSTEAD OF SODA.
