Summary Results and the benefits from the voluntary programmes that currently holds the Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente: – NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIT PROGRAM, AND, – ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM FOR COMPETITIVENESS 2 NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIT PROGRAM, AND ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM FOR COMPETITIVENESS

3 OBJECTIVE OF PROFEPA’S VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS National Environmental Audit Program: (PNAA.- Programa Nacional de Auditoría Ambiental) Improve the environmental performance of business facilities, so this will be higher than the one required by law. Environmental Leadership Program for Competitiveness: (PLAC.- Programa de Liderazgo Ambiental para la Competitividad) Improve the environmental performance of value chains by developing eco-efficiency projects that generate cost savings and increase business competitiveness.

5 NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIT PROGRAM, AND ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM FOR COMPETITIVENESS BENEFITS FROM THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIT PROGRAM (STATISTICAL EXCERCISE 2015) In 2015, 1,694 companies of all the companies registered in the National Environmental Audit Program participated in a voluntary survey to report their indicators in ,075 of those companies had environmental benefits. The decrease in total consumption were as following: 54.3 million m 3 of water 3.2 million of MWh 4.3 million ton of CO million ton of non-hazardous waste

6 NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIT PROGRAM, AND ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM FOR COMPETITIVENESS Main activities related to Industrial Parks Clean Industrial Park Recognition – PROFEPA gives the Recognition when the Industrial Park Management facilities and all the high risk and high impact facilities obtain the Certificate. – Up to now, two Industrial Parks achieved this Recognition Whirlpool Industrial Park, located in Nuevo Leon Proteina Animal, located in Jalisco AMPIP – PROFEPA AGREEMENT – In April 2014 PROFEPA and AMPIP (Mexican Asociation of Private Industrial Parks) signed an agreement to promote the National Program of Environmental Audit within the facilities of the industrial zones affiliated to AMPIP in order to obtain the PROFEPA Certificate trough the environmental audit.

Ensure the availability an sustainable management of water… – 6.3 By 2030, improve water quality by reducing pollution and minimizing the release of hazardous materials and chemicals… – 6.4 By 2030, substantially increase the efficiency of water use by all sectors. Goal 7. Ensure access for everybody to modern an sustainable energy, in a low and reliably cost. – 7.3 By 2030, double the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency. Goal 8. Promote sustainable economic growth. – 8.4 Improve in a progressively way to 2030 the efficiency of global resources in consumption and production. Strive to decouple economic growth from environmental degradation.

Ensure sustainable patterns of consumption and production. – 12.2 By 2030, achieve sustainable and efficient management of natural resources. – 12.5 By 2030, substantially reducing the generation of waste through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse. – 12.6 Encourage companies, especially large multinationals to adopt sustainable practices and integrate sustainable information in their reporting cycle. Goal 13. Take urgent actions to fight against climate change and its impacts. – 13.2 Integrate measures against climate change in national policies, strategies and planning (National Environmental Audit Program and CO 2 reduction)
