Let me know if you need additional books to read over vacation or any book recommendations. Additional spring poems will be sent home this week. Please add these to your reading folder. Thank you! Egg-traordinary Students! “Hoppy” Easter! A healthy and hearty breakfast and a restful night’s sleep fuel the body for learning! As the weather begins to warm up, please remember to pack a water bottle and nutritious snack. Thank you! I hope that everyone has a relaxing and blessed Easter break. I am looking forward to a productive and fun-filled remainder of the school year. Happy Easter, Happy Spring! Happy Spring! Wonderful Work! Everyone did a great job creating and presenting their Stations of the Cross project. Everyone also did a remarkable job writing about and presenting their Lucky Leprechaun. These projects are proudly on display. Please review our curriculum notes on the next slide for important academic news.

This Week’s Curriculum Notes Math –Chapter Seven, Geometry. The Chapter Seven test will be given on Tuesday. Please review classwork and homework assignments to prepare for this test. Last week, we identified how figures can slide, turn and flip. We also identified figures that were congruent. Students identified horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines of symmetry. Cut out shapes and fold them to practice identifying lines of symmetry at home. On Friday, during our afternoon math lab, we learned how to graph coordinates. Review addition and subtraction math facts. Replay some of the math games that have been sent home. Create double addition fact flash cards. Mastering these facts are important. Heads up … After vacation, we will begin Chapter Eight Time and Money. Then, we will dive deeper into addition and subtraction. Reading – This week, we will focus on nonfiction text. We will read and discuss two WR News Magazines. Please reread these with your child. We will also read and recite spring poems to improve fluency. Add these poems to your reading log folder. Heads Up! After vacation we will read, The Dot, from our reading textbook. Comprehension Skill: theme. Comprehension Strategy: Graphic Organizers. Our reading goal this month is 15 minutes of reading, 5 days per week. I know everyone can do it! Phonics & Spelling – After vacation, we will focus on long e (ea) and inflected endings. Next week’s spelling words and sight words are attached. Please print these and begin to review these word lists with your child. Grammar & Writing – All about adjectives! Students will identify adjectives within a sentence. We will also review possessives. Encourage your child to continue to write alliterations and other fun spring poems. Religion – This week, we will complete an Easter activity packet. Please reread and discuss this with your child. We will also complete other fun Easter activities in preparation for Easter Sunday. Have a wonderful week! Spring into good study habits!
