John 13:12-17

Do you really want to be “Christ-like?” Are you willing to serve like Jesus? John 13:1-17 will be our main text

1. Jesus served because He loved them John 13:1, loved to the end Wrong motivations for serving: 1. Guilt 2. Earn our way 3. Ego-love of praise

1. Jesus served because He loved them Not always easy to love this group: One would betray (premeditated, cold) One would deny (overconfident) 10 others would scatter Can you imagine washing Judas’ feet?

1.Jesus served because He loved them Matt. 5:44, love your enemies John 13:34-35, love one another Rom. 8:35-39, can’t be separated from love of Christ Serve like Jesus, with love!

2. Jesus served because they had needs Dirty feet and dirty hearts Phil. 2:3-8, form of a servant Mark 10:45, came to serve Serve like Jesus, with humility!

3.Greatness comes from serving Mark 10:42-45, great is a servant Luke 22:24-27, dispute over greatness John 13:12, do you know/understand? Serve like Jesus, with understanding!
