1. Developing Skills Literacy Investigative Skills Deductive Reasoning Identify Main Ideas Comparing and Contrasting Summarization Classifying Cause and Effect Identifying Patterns

2. Addressing Various Learning Styles Auditory: oral histories speeches news clips Visual: photographs objects

3. Appealing to Students Tangible “Real” things Experience it themselves Draw their own conclusions
