NO Continuous Improvement Process

Aspect ASDEE Model in Practice Helps to: Identify new interventions Review relevant literature Evaluate evidence Conduct trials Incorporate evidence into Aspect school curriculum

Five principles underpin the ACAE: 1.It is applicable to all students with autism. 2.Interventions support all areas of the student’s development and are based on an assessment and evaluation of individual needs. 3.The approach is a positive supportive model rather than a deficit approach, acknowledging the learning style, strengths and interests of children with autism. 4.The approach involves co-operation and collaboration between parents, carers and professionals. 5.The approach is based on ongoing reference to research and clinical literature and may therefore be inclusive of other interventions.

Format of the ACAE Introduction For each element: Contents Theory and Research Essential Requirements Aspect Practice (case study) Support Materials ACAE Self Review Checklist

ACAE Continuous Improvement Review The Aspect ACAE Continuous Improvement Review is a requirement for all Aspect school communities and is part of Aspect wide Quality Management Review processes. The aim of the continuous improvement review framework is to encourage on-going improvement and development of exemplary practice across all elements of the ACAE.
