Maine’s Health Care Grant October, 2011 Project Update

Project Goal To increase the supply and employment of credentialed health care workers in high-demand occupations.

4 Primary Objectives Increase the number of employees and unemployed workers who advance their training and earn healthcare credentials. Reduce Maine’s clinical training bottleneck Improve access to information about health career pathways Maintain and strengthen partnerships between employer, education and workforce sectors

Strengthening Partnerships  Fall 2011 Summit for stakeholders held 10/18/11  Administrative support for FORUM meetings enabled by grant funds; role of forum clarified; partnerships enhanced; collaboration continues  Regional conversations identifying employer needs and developing/matching with resources continue

NEXT STEP Continue to develop regionally specific strategies for allocating remaining training funds to meet employer needs by ensuring a well trained workforce.
