Foco na cobertura não-esportiva Tradição desde os Jogos Olímpicos de Sydney 2000 Operational Summary – Opening Ceremony -There has been 52 road closures since Friday midnight in the areas around Maracanã, Palácio do Itamaraty and Palácio do Estado. -Participants and spectators reached Maracanã as planned, with no incidents impacting on traffic flow in the main roads of the city. Athletes and authorities did not encounter any setbacks on their way to the ceremony. -SEOP and GM-Rio operated around the stadium, towing 25 vehicles and fining 86 near Maracanã. -Besides the regular infrastructure, COR used the Olympic benches and the Integrated Center of Urban Mobility (CIMU) to monitor traffic in the region in an integrated way during the event. They will both work 24/7 throughout the Games.

Foco na cobertura não-esportiva Operational Summary – Opening Ceremony -Subway: around 26,500 passengers got off São Cristóvão, Maracanã and São Francisco Xavier stations between 3 pm and 8 pm. Working hours were extended to 2 am, while ticket and security teams were reinforced - Supervia registered 300,000 passengers on board. The railway company worked on a special schedule to cater to spectators on their way to Maracanã, including 8 trains bound for both Japeri and 8 bound for Santa Cruz -The BRT operated between Jardim Oceânico and Centro Olímpico stations and Recreio and Vila Militar with 10-minute intervals, carrying around 43,000 passengers -The Rio 2016 confirmed the presence of 42,000 people in the Opening Ceremony
