MATERIALS Find out about materials

Metal Metal is a man made material. Metal is made by melting ores together. There is a variation of metals for e.g copper, gold, iron, silver and bronze

HELIUM Helium is a gas that helps lighten things because it has a small amount of molecules inside it. Helium is a naturally found gas. Helium is used to fill balloons.

Glass Glass is a made from sand. Glass is a common used object used in everyday life

Plastic Plastic is man made by oil and it is easy to wash. Plastic is easy to make and is extremely cheap to make.

wood Wood is used for furniture, beds, drawers and kitchen sides and floors. Wood comes from trees and is cut into fine pieces and then processed into paper.

Fabric Yarn is produced by spinning raw fibres of wool, flax, cotton, or other material to produce long strands. Textiles are formed by weaving, knitting, crocheting, knotting, or felting. The words fabric and cloth are used in textile assembly trades (such as tailoring and dressmaking) as synonyms for textile.

Ice is made by freezing water Ice can be man made but is usually naturally made
