Agenda

Conference Updates Share what you have learned from conferences you have attended.

FPM Updates Parent Involvement Policies Purchasing/Requisitions Mock FPM

Daily Learning Target By the end of the CIS meeting today, I will be able to write an action step that is understandable to the SSC and that passes FPM requirements as evidenced by presenting a “Perfect” action step to my fellow CIS coordinators.

What are the components of a great action step?

What are the components of a great requisition?

Action Step Staff will have the opportunity to attend professional development conferences, meetings, and trainings. Professional development will encompasses all types of facilitated learning opportunities. Professional development will be aligned but not limited to student learning, Common Core Standards, school improvement, and monitoring, that prepares, trains, and recruits high-quality teachers, principals, paraprofessionals, and other staff.

Requisition: EL conference Town & Country Hotel and Convention Center, San Diego. This is a supplemental resource to support students in improving their academic achievement. Teachers will learn the latest about upcoming ELD/ELA framework and to implement the new Common Core in classrooms. The resources from this conference will help teachers learn innovative teaching strategies to better meet the needs of Educationally Disadvantage students. (Action Site Step Reference: 10.3 Professional Conferences) Action Step from SPSA Action Step 5.1.3: Attend professional conferences where teachers can learn a variety of research-based strategies aimed at increasing student achievement. Conferences include but are not limited to: QTEL, CMC, UCLA, SDCOE workshops, CABE, NCTM, etc.

Requisition: printer/scanner Title 1, pg. 5, Action Step 1.1.? Technology to Support Instruction: Printer/scanner will be used to print and scan SPED student materials, tests, and support plans in order to strategically intervene with these students. Action Step 1.1.? Technology will be accessible to students, teachers, staff and community members in order to assist in lesson planning, communication, integration of 21 st century skills and learning. Teacher lessons will be created to ensure all students, including those with disabilities, have access to quality instruction through the use of technology. This includes the purchase and maintenance of laptops, PC’s, tablets, printers, webcams, Smartboards, toner, ink cartridges, LCD, bulbs, doc cameras, adaptors, chargers, batteries etc..

Your Turn: You want to buy “My Access software” 1)Write an Action Step to support this purchase. 2)Write the comments that should go into the requisition so that it will be approved. 3)What are the budget numbers you should use? BE SPECIFIC for your site. FPM reviewer states: Requisition DENIED
