School Board Presentation November 2015

House Bill 930/Senate Bill 306 Eliminated SOL tests in Grade 3 Science and Social Studies, Grade 5 Writing, United States I and United States II (6 th and 7 th grade in IWCS) Local school divisions will develop and administer alternate assessments for each of these assessments Region II Consortium Region II partnership provided training for teachers and division personnel Training was provided by ODU IWCS had teachers at each training

Once training was complete, 3 teachers came together to build the PBA for the division. All teachers used the PBA for their grade level. The goal last year was to get one done and we met that goal.

The goal is to complete 2 PBA’s, 1 in each semester Each grade level team will build one for their school for the first semester Each grade level team can build one for the second semester or use the ones created last year Goal: build our bank of PBAs with the assessment and rubrics that have been vetted by our teachers
