Student Profile Caroline Lear BSc Sports Development Caroline is enjoying her course at the University of Portsmouth for the wide range of subjects that are covered, including law and media. The first year of the course was very practical – an aspect which Caroline enjoys, particularly as she is a member of the University’s gymnastics club. When she graduates next year, Caroline would like to work with children in developing the school curriculum, tackling childhood obesity and improving sport and facilities for the disabled.

Student Profile Amy Robertson BSc Sports Development Amy is looking forward to the next few months of her course as they make us of the new media suite to produce their own TV sport shows. Amy would like to work as a Sports Development Officer for a local authority once she has graduated. Sports Development Officers work with families and schools in the community to encourage a healthy lifestyle for children.

Student Profile Kenny Cruickshanks BSc Sports Development Kenny has worked with children for a number of years coaching rugby and undertook this course at Portsmouth to gain further experience and a qualification. Kenny teaches at a local adventure activity centre for children and would like to continue his career in this field, possibly teaching sport in Further Education colleges.
