Children

–Verse 1 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.”

–Verse 2-3 “Honour your Father and Mother -which is the first commandment with a promise – so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on earth.”

Parents

–Verse 4a “Fathers…”

“Christian Parenting must be different.”

–Verse 4a “Parents do not exasperate your children…”

What might training look like? Bible time at meals Bible time before bed Church will be a priority Planning to attend Holiday Clubs or Camps Giving individuals time Always pointing to Jesus Praying for them

What might instruction look like? Modelling values Prioritise communication Being consistent with rules Mean what you say Allowing them to make their own mistakes Being there for the long haul
