SLAVERY ● By Kirsten and Orla.

SLAVES ● Slaves were sold at slave markets like animals being sold through fairs. ● This was a rough time for slaves and coloured people back then. ● They were ripped apart from their families. ● They were not aloud to know their birthdays and it was hard to find a nice master. ● Slaves used to try to escape by going to the underground railroad. Some white people were against slavery.

Henry Brown. ● Henry Brown was a boy who lived in America who was being used as a slave. ● When he was a young boy he was sent by his nice master to his son as his master was dying. ● Henry was torn apart from his family when he was only young. ● When he was older he met his futre wife Nancy while she was shopping for her master. ● Later in Henry's life he had children and a beutiful wife. His family was sold at a slave market.

Harriet Tubman ● Harriet Tubman was a real historical figure in history. ● She was a slave herself and escaped. She has saved many people and been noticed for her kindness. ● She has saved over 200 people and gone for them over 13 times. ● We only learned about Harriet in school in a poem. ● Harriet Tubman is an insparation to people.

Vitalia ● We only learnt about Vitalia in a story we were reading called The Red Comb. Vitalia was only young when she saw her first slave.

Sweet Clara ● Sweet Clara knitted a map on a quilt for freedom to get back to her family. ● She knitted the lakes, mountains and paths. ● She got her freedom in the end.

Slave Catchers

Our input ● We think slaves are good people but it is not fair for them to be held hostage. ● Slave catchers were cruel because all they thought about was the money. ● If you were very lucky you could get a nice master. ● Slaves could be sold for up to millions of euro. ● Slaves were only kept in some countries.

Summary Slavery was in Africa and America in 1830 to This was an awful time for people back then as families were being torn apart. This is an example of what slave catchers used to think:'' Your going to get a million whips and I'm going to get a million euro.'' And slaves used to think:''My life is terrible and I miss my family.'' Those poor poor people.

Thank You ● Thank you for watching our presentation we hope you enjoyed.
