Dp3 is: Dp3 :Overarching items Dp 3a : Aberdeen City and Shire Hub interchange and now Norwegian port areas Dp 3b : Hamburg Feeder and Shortsea port operations Dp 3c : Hull Logistics technology Dp 3d : Amsterdam Intermodal hinterland accessibility

DP3: Analysis and Strategic Action Plans 1 SWOT analyses of the role of port regions as intermodal hubs (gives input concerning improvement intermodal accessibility plan and projects) – Group agreed of Aberdeenshire and City, Hull, Hamburg Port, Amsterdam, Rogaland, Vest Agder, Hordland, Norwegian Coastal Administration, Telemark. Work programmed prior to Meeting 16th June in Aberdeen. 2 Cargo flow analyses for relevant corridors short sea, rail and inland waterways – Underway for specific Cargoes in Aberdeen City and Shire area and general freight movement data by mode being collected – who else ?

3 Market analyses for specific intermodal links in close co-operation with relevant other seaport regions (in the MoS North sea area and in other MoS regions like the Baltic and Mediterranean) and concerning inland waterways and rail with relevant dry port regions. Where opportunities exist 4 Develop strategic intermodal action plans or intermodal accessibility plans for each hub in the participating port regions. From the analyses a strategic intermodal action plan can be derived concerning improvement of the hub itself. In this action plan are ideas for intermodal projects for further development. If project results can be considered as such (an intermodal action plan)

Other DP3 (a) work next 6 months Strategic Environmental Assessment on sample new terminal site to be evaluated with Aberdeen City and Shire - work commences. Economic Activity Study ( Freight Logistics impact) brief to be evaluated and let for North East Scotland. Local liaison with Dry Port in Scotland. Further contact with Scottish National and regional freight logistics studies. Presentation on 3 (a) to Aberdeen City Politicians

Other DP3 (a) work next 6 months Write up report on theoretical model of volume modal shift mechanism of peripheral logistics hubs. Evaluation of HOV lane results in Aberdeen City Preliminary report on recyclate aggregation due for North East Scotland. Final report of ongoing freight data monitoring within North East Scotland due. Continuing input from DP3 a to WPC Input required from Norwegian partners on proposed DP3 (a) activity.
