©MIMOSA 2015 The Role of Standards in Sustainable Enterprise Solutions  Standards help rationalize chaos into widely accepted good practices  NGO Standards Organizations such as ISO and IEC  Industry Standards Organizations – API, ISA, OPC, MIMOSA, PCA, USPI  Practice Standards – Focus on what should be done  Such as PAS 55 and ISO define good asset management practices to be followed  CFIHOS - Working to define good handover practices  Individual IT/IM Oriented Standards – Focus on IT/IM aspects of how  Such as ISO 15926, OPC, ISA 95/88, ISO and MIMOSA  Enable SoS to properly support good practices defined in Practice Standards

©MIMOSA 2015 MIMOSA and USPI Complements MIMOSA Focal Points –Standards-based interoperability –Life-cycle asset information management –Focused more on How (from an IT and IM POV) OIIE Standard Solution Architecture –Driven by Standardized Use Case Methodology –Defined by a portfolio of standards MIMOSA CCOM (Asset Information Model) OGI Pilot USPI Focal Points –Plant life cycle asset information management in process industry supply chain –Standards for exchange and integration of data and information –Focused more on What needs to be done from an IM POV ISO roadmap Orchid information maturity model CFIHOS information handover specification

©MIMOSA 2015 USPI Strategy Main strategic axes –Build on what happens already in companies –Build critical mass and focus in the order country-region-global –Common industry voice to software suppliers –Regulations will drive standardization  proactive response Standards development should fit Industry information maturity. –Refer EU Orchid roadmap 2010 Continuous action planning –What are the deliverables of the consortia? Use cases, implementable standards sets, maintenance schemes –Standards gap analysis What is missing against requirements? –Stakeholder analysis Who are the key players, what business do they have together? ”Food chain” OO’s, EPC’s, Equipment suppliers--> software industry –Orchestration plan Groups and consortia need to work together and cooperate in industry and in ISO Not as one centrally managed business unit but in consensus Key activities –CFIHOS for information handover specification –ISO TC 184/SC 4/WG 3 convener, Implementation Forum Leadership –ISO roadmap, OGI project use case 01, ISO –Owner operator workshops and standards priorities model –Maintenance Knowledge Management Standard (NTA) –Workshops on ISO 15926, CFIHOS, MKM NTA

©MIMOSA 2015 MIMOSA Strategy MIMOSA Mission: Help industry derive business value from standardization activities related to asset life-cycle management.  Methodology: Cooperative Industry Interoperability Standardization Framework –Prioritize High Business Value Functional Requirements of Owner/Operators Develop a standardized use case structure for “fully dressed” use cases Capture Functional Requirements in the standardized use case format Model business value, costs and risks for each use case to establish priorities –Establish the Shared Industry Foundation Architecture As Requested The Open Industrial Interoperability Ecosystem (OIIE™)  Select existing, supplier-neutral IT and IM standards and methods  Cooperate with other industry standards bodies in a mutually beneficial manner  Maintain MIMOSA CCOM™ as primary industry Asset Information Model Package the use cases in a consistent, reusable, extensible and sustainable portfolio –Establish Oil and Gas Interoperability (OGI™) Pilot Pilot builds and maintains Shared Oil and Gas Industry Interoperability Test-bed Use pilot for gap analysis and continuous improvement of the OIIE Align with industry research activities, without being held captive to research Close identified gaps with shared industry projects Gap Filling Industry Project - Industry Standard Datasheet Definitions

©MIMOSA 2015 INDUSTRY STANDARD DATASHEET DEFINITION PROJECT Filling a major gap identified by the Oil and Gas Interoperability Pilot The need for Datasheet Oriented Information Management  Valuation Modeling for Activities and Asset/Device Classes  Build and deliver prioritized sets of Datasheet Definitions in 3-4 month phases  Datasheet Definitions are built as MIMOSA CCOM Business Objects  Datasheet Definitions plug directly into Interoperability Ecosystem

©MIMOSA 2015 Primary Objective Capture machine-interpretable, consistent and directly reusable data sheet definitions from existing industry standard data sheets

Plan / Program / Contract Engineer / Design Procure Fabricate / Construct Complete / Commission / Start-up Operate / Maintain Decommission / Dispose Determine project % completeness by analyzing filled in datasheet properties required by equipment type for each phase Develop project specific engineering terminology and map to industry RDLs Handover machine- interpretable datasheets for immediate loading into engineering master data system to compare against the physical asset and configuring O&M systems Select project specific templates from ISDDs for structured data entry by engineers Pre-populate datasheets from previous phases (e.g. design basis) as engineers choose equipment to design Send completed datasheets to vendors with provision for their reply; receive, load, verify and compare vendor offerings Matchup requirements against product datasheets from equipment suppliers
