Solihull Action Through Advocacy Steering Group meeting9 th March 2015 Solihull Action Through Advocacy- (Changing Lives Board) Solihull Civic Suite SATA Warwick Rd Solihull B92 7AR The changing Lives Board are a long established group of adults with learning disabilities who have been meeting together on a monthly basis to support good practice and campaign for rights, fairness and intergration.

What happened? We had discussions We gave information We gathered people’s opinions

Discussions “I definitely wouldn’t want to do a bungee or parachute!” “I make choices like I play a game of draughts, thinking about what will happen when I make my next move”. “I know I have a learning disability but that shouldn’t stop me being able to make my own choices and decisions. I care for my mom too, so this law is very important

we are all different and we will all make lots of choices in lots of different ways. We all need time and information INFORMATION
