Installation Variations First and most common is the floating install. This method uses no fasteners or adhesive. The floor snaps together with a specially designed edge joint and is laid over the existing floor Glued down installations can only be done over very secure subfloors, such as concrete. Nailing or stapling installation is the best method for acoustic concerns.
