Presentation transcript:

AIXM 5 Concepts The use case presentation has revealed just a few of the new applications and services that could be developed on the foundation offered by an internationally agreed aeronautical information exchange specification. These services range from ‘classical’ automation, such as database driven charting, to new possibilities, such as updating on-board situation awareness systems with the latest NOTAM in force. Let’s see now which are the main elements that position AIXM version 5 as the candidate for becoming this internationally agreed aeronautical data exchange standard. This presentation is based on the first part of the “AICM and AIXM 5 - Exchange Model goals, requirements and design” document.

Obstacles ICAO Annex 4, 14, 15 & DOC 8126 RTCA /EUROCAE DO-276/ED-98 AICM 4.5 IATA Lighting Schedule Area 1, 2, 3 Point, Line, Polygon Obstacle (ICAO) = All fixed (whether temporary or permanent) and mobile objects, or parts thereof, that are located on an area intended for the surface movement of aircraft or that extend above a defined surface intended to protect aircraft in flight As an example, the new Belgocontrol Tower in Brussels.
