Progress (1) Each corporate and clinical unit progressing their day 1 requirements (aiming for Autumn 2016) Services have developed post-integration structures (ie: what is needed beyond the first few years) Finalised operational structure & associated site management arrangements Senior leadership appointment process agreed

Progress (2) Launched patient safety partnership Section 31 Improvement Notice lifted by CQC, highlighting progress made at SFH re: sepsis management SFH unannounced inspection July. Positive early feedback

Progress (3) The organisation will be called Nottinghamshire University Hospitals NHS Trust SFH staff and services will transfer to NUH We are working through the legal, practical and commercial arrangements Detailed Comms to follow / staff briefings (mid Aug)

Progress (4) Competition & Markets Authority submission Business case setting out how the new organisation will become clinically and financially sustainable submitted to NHS Improvement

Planning for day 1 Including: -IT system access -Switchboard arrangements -New website -Patient appointment letters -Aligning recruitment offer letters -Staff induction arrangements -Access to same safety-critical policies & key staff information

Key messages to staff (1) Most front line colleagues will see very little change in the short to medium-term In the medium-term most specialties will be managed as one team, potentially across several sites A small number of colleagues may be asked to work at a different campus in the new organisation where this is needed for service delivery

Key messages to staff (2) New organisation presents fresh career & professional development opportunities We will work to ensure consistency of roles across Divisions & sites We have no plans to move away from NHS pensions or Agenda for Change

Key messages to staff (3) Merger will not change existing CQC ratings for individual hospitals New organisation will be rated only when all six sites have been inspected Safety-critical policies harmonised first (all policies over time)
