WELCOME TO THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! I’m so excited to have you in my class!

ABOUT ME

RULES

NO CELLPHONES. NONE. ZERO. NOT ALLOWED.

GRADES

HOMEWORK Homework will be given almost every day. Each homework assignment is worth 10 points. No homework? -2 points per day SHOW ALL YOUR WORK AT LEAST -3 points if half-done/incorrect

Students that receive a grade of 7 or lower on a homework assignment have until Friday of that week to redo the homework for up to 8 points.

QUIZZES Exit Quiz: 8 points Vocab Quiz: 30 points

TESTS There will always be a review packet given out before the test. The tests usually take a similar format as its review sheet. If you miss a test for any reason, you have 2 days to take the test. Only under special circumstances will exceptions be made.

Test Corrections You get a third of the points back! HALF

PROJECTS 50 points; Given instead of a Unit Test

CLASS BEHAVIOR Coming prepared to class (binder, pencil, homework), respecting your classmates and me, and participating in class with a positive attitude will earn you full credit for class behavior.

CONSEQUENCES

Warning = name on the board 15 min Lunch Detention = check next to name on the board 30 min Lunch Detention = second check next to name If you do not come to detention, you need to come in the next morning at 7:00 for morning detention. If you receive two detentions in one week, or if your behavior continues to interrupt class, calls home will be made, and the principal will be involved.

PROCEDURES

Entering the Classroom Line up outside the classroom, single file, and wait to be greeted “Welcome to our class, welcome to your future.”

First Five Minutes 1.Sit down at your desk quietly, and put your homework on your desk. Take out your colored pen. 1.Take out your pencil, or get a pencil. Put your binder in your desk. 1.Copy down AIM 1.Get Going!

“I need a pencil!!!!” WITHIN THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES OF CLASS 1.Walk to my desk 2.Put your pencil in the broken pencil box 3.Take from the sharpened pencil box! If you don’t have a pencil to trade in, take a pencil and write your name on the board. Return the pencil after class and erase your name.

Leaving Class 1.Take binder out of desk, and organize notes and work in correct folders 2.Quietly put binders and pencils back into backpack 3.Sit in your seat and wait to be dismissed by Ms. Fong 4.Push in your chairs If you borrowed a pencil, return the pencil and erase your name from the board.
