What is L10N ? ● Localization is one half of the Globalization process. (Other half is the I18N) ● Localization involves the adaptation of products for a specific region. ● In our case, through translation of software and manuals. ● Localization is real communication.

Why L10N ? ● To make available of the power of computers to every region & every corner of the world. ● The main aim is to remove the language barrier and reduce the digital divide. ● The initiative towards reaching benefits of Information Technology to every corner of our society !

What's currently available in L10N? ● Localized desktop, applications, manuals and even some websites. ● Fonts, Input methods, etc. ● The basic functionality for a localized product is already there. ● We already have a large number of local language computing teams involved. es/rhindia/
