LEWIS-PALMER HOME SCHOOL ENRICHMENT ACADEMY A Program to Support and Enrich the Learning of our Home School Families

What is Lewis-Palmer Home School Enrichment Academy? The Lewis-Palmer Home School Enrichment Academy (HSEA) is a program designed to support home school families who choose to be the primary educators of their children. The program is provided through Lewis- Palmer School District and is taught by highly-qualified, licensed teachers who have a passion for inspiring the love of learning. HSEA helps families fulfill their goal of helping their children learn while maintaining a quality family life.

Mission of LPHSEA To support and enrich the learning of children whose parents choose to be the primary educators of their children To provide an extension of the learning in the home setting through experiential learning, problem solving, and interactive simulations To offer enrichment in the areas of art, music, physical education, and creative writing To provide opportunities for children to deepen their connections not only with the core curriculum taught at home but also with their home school peers

Program Information Hosted at Grace Best District Facility in the newer section A separate enrichment program offered only to home school families Open to all home schooled students in grades K-6 Program hours are 8:30 to 3:30 one day a week and begin the week following Labor Day All materials are provided Standardized testing to meet home school requirements is available upon request for enrolled students Highly qualified, Colorado state certified teachers

Enrichment Curriculum Children explore Art with instruction in technique and are encouraged to create through painting, drawing, and sculpting. Children learn Music theory and explore through singing and movement. They learn basic instrumentation for drums, recorder, and keyboard. Children experience the fun of life-long Physical Fitness through sports and games. They learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and have fun while learning the rules of various team sports. Children express themselves through Creative Writing with instruction in writing poetry, short stories, and more. Children enrich their core content learning with Experiential Learning through interactive classroom simulations using problem solving.
