Strategic Plan The strategic plan establishes SCDOT's transportation vision, mission, values, and goals. MTP The Multimodal Transportation Plan is SCDOT's long-range transportation plan updated every five years to reflect latest information. The current plan has a 2040 horizon and was approved in TAMP The TAMP is a 10-year tactical document focusing on the day-to-day programs and activities to improve business practices, asset conditions, and system performance. The TAMP is reviewed at two- and four-year intervals to evaluate how the Department is meeting performance targets. STIP The Statewide Transportation Improvement Program is the State's six-year transportation improvement program for all federally funded projects. The STIP covers all federally funded and regionally significant projects improvements for which funding has been approved and are expected to be undertaken during the upcoming six-year period.

 Focus on maintenance and preservation of existing transportation system  Direct investments based on desired system performance  Use VMT to guide investment decisions  Consider priority networks that support economic competiveness by enhancing the mobility of people and freight  Promote the most efficient use of resources to extend the life of pavements and bridges

 Consider agency goals  Stress the needs of the NHS to meet Federal reporting requirements  Acknowledge assets on priority networks  Use Vehicle Miles Traveled and condition in funding process  Distribute new funding by need to reach performance goals

 Adopt Asset/Performance Management as a way of doing business  Update your UPWP’s to reflect performance  Use annual condition reports to select and program projects
